Leica Camera has unveiled a new Leica Q2 ?007 Edition? to celebrate the release of the 25th Bond adventure,
No Time To Die. Limited to 250 pieces only, the camera exudes understated elegance ? just like James Bond ? marked by Leica?s signature minimalist design.
Daniel Craig and Greg Williams worked together to conceptualise the design of this special-edition Q2. Their core inspiration was the look of vintage Leica M models whose black paint had become chipped through years of use, only to reveal glimpses of the gold-coloured brass beneath. The black exterior of the Leica Q2 Daniel Craig x Greg Williams with its discreet gold elements conceals the modern, fast and robust technology of the serially produced Q2 ? a camera that combines the convenience of automatic functions with the option of using manual control whenever the photographer desires.
The new Leica Q2 Monochrom is today?s one and only compact camera with a true monochrome full frame sensor, delivering outstanding black-and-white photography and 4k video with an unparalleled level of natural detail and sharpness in the most accessible way. With its newly developed 47MP monochrome CMOS sensor, the fastest lens in its class and up to ISO100.000, the dust and spray water proof Leica Q2 Monochrom excels in every situation, especially in extreme lowlight conditions.
The Leica Q2 Reporter continues a long tradition of Leica cameras that are specifically geared towards the challenging working environments of reportage and press photographers ? offering maximum precision and reliability even in the most adverse conditions. Along with its robust exterior, the camera is distinguished by a deliberate discreet appearance – enabling the photographer to work without drawing undue attention. Both the red Leica dot on the front and the engraving on the top plate are consciously omitted for this purpose.
Instead of the traditional leather trim, the Leica Q2 Reporter is equipped with a ?body armor? made of Kevlar, a synthetic material widely used in the production of high-grade protective clothing. This is perfectly complemented by the camera?s matte-green finish, achieved with a particularly scratch and abrasion resistant paint. The result is an exterior that is both hard-wearing and discreet.
Meticulously crafted to meet the challenges of reportage and press photography, the Leica Q2 Monochrom Reporter Limited Edition Digital Camera is distinguished by its commitment to image quality and understated practicality. Both the red Leica dot on the front and the engraving on the top plate are inconspicuously omitted, letting you work without drawing undue attention to yourself. The camera features a 47.3MP monochrome sensor, which is used for the sole purpose of recording vivid and rich black-and-white imagery. The Monochrom Reporter Edition retains Kevlar body armor, a synthetic material known for its exceptional resilience. Over time, exposure to naturally occurring UV rays will change the material’s color, until it matches the dark green, highly scratch-resistant finish of the camera body. In addition to these traits, the Leica Q2 Reporter offers the same level of protection against dust and water infiltration as the original Q2 model.
With its newly developed, 47.3 megapixel full frame sensor, extremely fast Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH. prime lens, fast autofocus, innovative OLED technology, and timelessly elegant design, the Leica Q2 elevates the tradition established by its predecessor, the Leica Q.
